Herons Glen Ladies Golf Association go “Pretty in Pink” with Third Annual Golf Event Benefitting Partners for Breast Cancer Care
The tournament benefitted Partners for Breast Cancer Care, a community funded non-profit organization that helps Lee County residents with low income and no health insurance get breast screening and diagnostic testing including mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and surgery. The program is funded by grants and donations from Southwest Florida residents. The tournament title sponsor is Fuccillo Kia of Cape Coral.
The event kicked off at 7 a.m. with the arrival of the Pink Heals pink firetruck. Pink Heals is a nonprofit volunteer group dedicated to supporting women and families who are fighting illnesses through fundraising and awareness campaigns. The local chapter started in 2013 and has since been touring its signature pink fire truck across Southwest Florida. Breast cancer survivors at the event will have the chance to sign the truck.
The event raised $36,120 which will directly help 153 underserved Lee County residents at no cost to them!
A huge thank you to the Herons Glen community, especially Bernadette Schirra, Linda Birecree and Mary Koenig, co-chairs of the Pretty in Pink event.
