The San Carlos Fire & Rescue Team will be doing a 2009 Calendar to benefit Partners for Breast Cancer Care. Sales will begin November 2008

Marci Perry, President of From Our Hearts, presents a check in the amount of $25,000.00 to Janet Darnell, Program Director of Partners for Breast Cancer Care at their October general meeting.  The funds are part of the money raised at the From Our Hearts "Breast Fest" held in March. This year's quilt unveiling,"Circles of Life", will be held on October 28th at Fine Mark National Bank in Riverwalk at 6:00 PM. Tickets for the quilt raffle will be available for sale at all Radiology Regional Centers and Partners for Breast Cancer Care. The drawing will be May 19, 2009.

PfBCC held their Annual Board meeting on July 26, 2008. Statistics show an obvious increase in the number of women and men who received help in our community. 1029 procedures were provided for 626 residents in Lee County. Of these 15 were diagnosed with breast cancer. One of these cases was a 51 year old male who needed a radical mastectomy.   Partners for Breast Cancer Care continues to raise awareness in the community in hopes to diminish the number of diagnosed patients. Early detection is the best prevention.
